The sides have spoken multiple times and Flores has a history with GM Nick Caserio. This is the first in-person interview.
Flores has been in demand since his surprising release by the Dolphins at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. He is also expected to interview with the New Orleans Saints this week, who have recently joined the head coach hunt after long-time coach Sean Payton announced last week he is stepping away from football.
The Texans fired first-year head coach David Culley earlier this month. In addition to the team winning just four games in 2021, there were also rumors Culley was at odds with other members of the organization because of his coaching philosophy.
Even if Flores is the right man for the job, the Texans still have a laundry list of things to take care of this offseason. They have a handful of players entering free agency and have multiple positions that would benefit from them drafting smart in April.
Houston also still has to make a decision about trading Deshaun Watson, who they paid to not play a single snap this past season as the quarterback's legal issues continue to loom large.
